Divination using a deck of cards is called cartomancy and is a large and comprehensive area to go into; it requires a keen interest and a commitment to studying the cards, their history and power.

Tarot cards have many layers of meanings, and the knowledge attached to them is therefore infinite yet fascinating. An Egyptian tarot deck consists of a total of 78 cards divided into two groups called Major (big) Arcana, which stands for the big secrets and consists of 22 cards, and Minor (small) Arcana, which stands for minor secrets and consists of 56 cards.

Four sets of cards are divided into Chalices (Hearts), Pentacles (Bells), Wands (Acorns), and Swords (Leaves). The cards briefly describe the different phases you go through in life and refer to the events that are of greater importance, as well as changes, milestones and the influence of your choices. They also refer to less important things that you may still need to know. Minerve is able to read a lot from a spread of these cards and give you a clue or an answer as to which direction your situations will take in the future. Through the interpretation of the Egyptian tarot cards, Minerve can therefore read different types of people and personality traits.

A famous tarot spread is the Celtic Cross but there are also endless other combinations to choose from.

In the card combinations, the weight of each card will be important. But in addition to support cards or help cards as well as the position in the spread and in the interpretation, the cards will also be able to refer to different answers. One should also take into account the following: the symbolism of the tarots that can clarify details, the meaning of their numbers and colours in relation to other cards in the spread. Upright and reversed cards have also different meanings and can assume a positive or a negative definition accordingly.

Although it is true that anyone could acquire a deck of tarot cards, read up on their meaning and interpretation, in order to become a practitioner of cartomancy a higher level of knowledge, insight and experience is required. Whereas some people remember and learn the meaning of the cards, the card spreads and their interpretations, those with innate abilities can make the interpretation instinctive. This often becomes more detailed because the tarot interpreter can also connect his other abilities, to get more information.

Occasionally, the cards need to be cleansed as they are drained of energy due to their constant use. They are charged or cleansed in various ways, such as with incense, crystals, stones, or simply by exposing them to the light of a full moon. It is also important to properly store the tarots which should be kept in a beautiful bag or in a box as a sign of respect.

Be prepared for the Egyptian tarot cards to show the truth as it is, whether the situation is good or bad for you. It can be meant as a warning of what you should be aware of in a current situation or how it will be developing in the future.
